A team of educators will be traveling to Haiti on the weekend after Thanksgiving to offer 2 day-long workshop on Inquiry-based learning to 50 or more principals and Haitian educators. Inquiry-based learning has been very successful throughout the United States as it helps students from rote learning to problem-solving and critical-thinking. Hearts for Humanity is sponsoring the workshop and hoping to supply the needed tablets and computers as well as books and printed matter for schools without computers.

Irlaine Félix lost her job working as a maid. She has a child and lives with her husband. After she lost her job her husband began humiliating her physically and verbally. At the end of July 2010, she received training from Ronel Delva and received a loan of $55.00 (2,200 gourdes). Irlaine started a small business selling gas, laundry soap and spices. After she had enough money, Irlaine changed her business to selling shoes. She continued her business and things have improved for her. When her husband saw her success he returned home and helped Irlaine pay off her debts. They got married August 2011. It all started with just a small loan of $55.00.
