InterActive Education for
Haiti is seeking a new way of educating the more than 3 million students in
Haiti today. This will happen through the introduction of Inquiry-based learning
which has taken root and is transforming the learning process of students
throughout the world over the last ten years.
InterActive Education for Haiti will put the students of Haiti on an equal footing with students their own age around the world as well as open the door to employment opportunities that exist in the world today and in the world of tomorrow.
The right education is the key.Even though Father Laz and Fequiere Vilsaint of EducaVision are striving to use computers and tablets for Inquiry-based learning, most of the schools and classrooms in Haiti do not yet have computers or tablets. Teachers can be trained and students can still participate in Inquiry-based learning with books and other materials. This is especially true in Grades One to Four.
InterActive Education for Haiti is beginning to pilot Inquiry-based learning in schools throughout Haiti starting with the school year in 2011. By the end of the school year 2012 as many as 50 schools will be piloting the program in Grade One and Grade Two. Teacher training sessions are conducted on an ongoing basis. Once the pilot phase has been completed and evaluated, the expectation is to greatly expand the Inquiry-based learning program into many other schools throughout Haiti. For the following school year, the plan is to add Grade Three and Grade Four to the curriculum.| Name | Amount | Date |
