Chernihiv is the northernmost region of Ukraine that is surrounded by borders with Russia, Belarus, Kyiv and Chernobyl. City lies directly along the Russian invasion route from Belarus to Kyiv. With population over 300,000, it was one of the first cities attacked and now remaining 150,000 people are completely cut off from the rest of the world. As per city mayor, infrastructure is completely destroyed. Most neighborhoods have no clean water, and the city has been disconnected from the national power grid leaving people with no lights, heat or cell connection.
